Classic Moments in a Weekend With the Ure Family: A Compendium of Limericks (in honor of St. Patty's Day)
Twas a sad day when first we arrived,
Of a cozy bed we were deprived.
As our air mattress dwindled,
My anger was kindled,
But luckily, folks, I survived.
(.... kidding about the anger being kindled, no "hard" feelings, heh heh ;)
On a fun-filled and crazy March weekend,
My brother-in-law saw my rear end.
He blurted, "Oh, Angela!"
I squealed, "Aye, carrumba!"
On that fun-filled and crazy March weekend.
Ne'er a shortage of screamin' and gigglin'
And those crazy kids yellin' and fiddlin'
Always noxious gas passin'
In-laws are assassins!
Next time I'm bringin' Beano and Ritalin!

my friend ang is oh so funny
everyone should give her a lot of money
she's also real cute
and clever to boot
and boy am I glad it's real sunny
Once again your good humor is tested.
By in-laws you'll never be bested.
It's good to be home
with clean air, bed and tome.
I hope that you soon feel well rested.
These comments have all been quite witty
and left by folks who seem very pretty
I don't have the grits
to one-up their wits
so I will sit here and wallow in pity.
Dear Kristi,
Your skills as a writer are LEGION.
You pity yourself for no reason.
Come, dry up your tears,
Ignore all your fears,
Be sunny and bright as the season!
Love,
Smom
By now it has become apparent,
(Of this fact I'll be the declarant)
My skills as a poet
Are Mom's, we all know it.
I wish I could be half the parent.
I am unashamedly going to brake this chain of limericks, because if I tried it would take me an hour and then I'd be wishing I would have said something else... but I am really curious now to hear the details of some of these stories. Your brother-in-law saw your rear end?!
